Undoubtedly, every long-term relationship marks an era in your life. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end...until you find the next best thing :)
My 6 steps to finding positivity from devastation:

Step 2: Remove ALL contact with that person. Even if you still want to be their Facebook "friend", know that it will not help the healing process.
Step 3: Get outside. The mixture of fresh air and Vitamin D are a total mood boost. Surround yourself with cheerful people and go on fun outings.
Step 4: Meditate: This doesn't mean that you have to become a Yogi, but try repeating a mantra, doing yoga, and practicing deep breathing. When you find your center, you will find a greater understanding of the situation and how to handle it.
Step 5: Keep those good memories. I often get lost in the old memories , and that is a great way to overcome. Whether they were your best friend or first love, know that they loved you and you enriched their life.
Step 6: Don't rush into dating to "get over them". Let the next person come to you. You possess such great qualities and anyone would be LUCKY to have you in their life.
